Yoga Studios Nashville: The Benefits Are Far-Reaching And Profound

By Diane Collins

Meditation may seem like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to many, however, it is far from it. The practice has been in existence for centuries. Tibetan Monks are known for their meditations, and mindful outlook on life in general. Many a monk has gone on to live to years beyond the norm. Join a meditation group at Yoga Studios Nashville and reap the benefits, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

All too often aggression and anger seem to be appearing in situations that may, under any other circumstances, be nothing more than a few words passed between individuals. The economy is weakening, and everything is continuously rising in price. People are scratching their heads at how they are going to make ends meet, and it is driving many to the brink of insanity. Little things are sparking off incidents of huge proportions.

Emotionally, meditation affects you in a positive way. Meditation combats feelings of anxiety caused by stress, fear, and even depression. The instances of these emotions taking hold of you are more managed and less frequent. Meditation teaches to love yourself first. Your self-esteem, and acceptance of yourself will be enhanced. Adversity and pain will no longer hold you back, your ability to be resilient will be increased. A positive, optimistic outlook on life will be how you face each day. Don t be a slave to habits formed through emotional turmoil. Emotional eating, drinking, and smoking will no longer be what you seek solace in. Emotional intelligence is increased.

On a mental level, meditation assists in improvements in a number of areas. While overcoming things like OCD, bi-polar, and the effects of dementia become more manageable, other areas of mental ability also reap the rewards. Focus and concentration are improved, learning ability boosted, and memory capacity and ability are multiplied.

When you decide to join a meditation class, there is a number of things you can expect. Meditation teaches you how to use simple breathing techniques in order to keep a cool head when things get a little heated. It may sound strange that simply breathing through a situation can make all the difference, but it s a fact that has been proven over the centuries. It is a practice that has been carried out by Tibetan Monks for thousands of years.

Meditation doesn t take up a huge portion of your day, however, it is the way each day should begin. Before you even climb out of bed in the morning, it should be part of your routine. Take the time to spend a few moments meditating, clearing your mind, and drawing positive energy towards yourself, before exiting the bed. You know once you do, the chaos of the impending day will consume you.

A large portion of meditation involves affirmations. Affirmations are phrases that you repeat to yourself throughout the day. It is a phrase chosen by you, which has great meaning. Things like I am enough, or I am the master of my own fate, I will succeed are two very simple examples. The affirmations can be anything at all that inspires you on your path to enlightenment, mindfulness, and happiness.

Let s put it this way, if everybody practiced the basic principles taught by meditation, there would be far less war, and strife in the world today. Unfortunately, for the human race, it is far easier to lose your temper in an attempt to force your views on others, than to have any discussions that may bring about any ideas opposed to yours. Nobody likes to be shown to be wrong, and perhaps, it is pride more than anything else that makes the human race so stubborn.
