Names You Can Find On A Gospel Book Store Shelf

By Catherine Wallace

Reading gospel books is one effective way by which Christians can grow up spiritually. Apart from the Bible, gospel books have made tremendous impacts on the lives of many faithful readers. The different levels of exposure to gospel books among Christians make a major difference in the way they live their lives.

However, not all of them make the same impact. Some of the books sell much more than others because they are inspired. As a result of their high demand, it is quite hard to enter any established gospel book store without finding them. Many of these stores have books written by John Piper, Billy Graham, Watchman Nee, CS Lewis, Oswald Chambers, Rick Warren, Lee Strobel, Joyce Meyer, David Platt and Francis Chan.

"The Case for Christ" and "The Case for Faith" are two best sellers from Lee Strobel. Lee was initially an atheist who never knew that apart from knowing God, he would also become an instrument in His hands for many to be saved. He had decided to be a journalist to cause more ridicule to the gospel but things turned the opposite against his initial desire. He was however happy for the change he met.

Apart from being a pastor and the founder of Saddleback Church, Rick Warren is also a good writer. One of his popular books, "The Purpose Driven Life, " has been said to have caused men to give their lives to Christ. In addition to all these, Warren has impacted the lives of many who have attended his seminars and conferences.

It may be inappropriate to call out some best sellers without including Billy Graham. Many people have the notion that Billy Graham is the most radical evangelist of the twentieth century. He has served as a spiritual adviser to a lot of political icons such as Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. The name, Billy Graham, has attracted over 2 billion people to crusades worldwide out of which over 3.2 million of them gave their lives to Christ.

Even though Oswald Chambers died quite early, he wasn't immediately forgotten because of the books he wrote before he died. "My Utmost for His Highest" was one of those books that he did not live to publish by himself. There are many other books to enjoy from him and one of them is @Love, a Holy Command."

Watchman Nee also makes it on the list of most popular Christian writers. He lived between November 4, 1903, and June 1, 1972, when he died in China. Some of the books in his name include "The Normal Christian Life, " "The Release of the Spirit, " "Spiritual Authority, " and "Sit, Walk, Stand."

Although a lot of the books are no longer new, the demand for them is still high, and this has caused many stores to always have them even in large quantities. Anyone can order them and pay with credit cards or any other supported electronic payment systems.
