For Walk In Clinic Birch Run Is Worth Visiting

By Ann Davis

Urgent care clinics are an invention of the 1970s and they were invented out of necessity. The invention was made by a group of emergency room doctors. The doctors had observed that people wanted to be able to visit a healthcare facility without having to place an appointment first. People longed for the flexibility of being able to walk into a healthcare facility, receive treatment and walk out with no strings attached. When in need of Walk in clinic Birch Run should be visited.

As such, they founded the first UC clinic in the United States in 1970s. Another term used for the clinics is walk-in clinics. As the name suggests, one can just walk into the clinic at any time they like as long as it is open. After the first clinic was established, investors got interested in the idea and funded more clinics to be set up.

Many urgent clinics were being established everywhere after a short period. This raised an alarm to the government which then ended up setting rules and standards that govern how the clinics were to operate. According to these regulations, the opening hours of the clinics should be between 8 A. M and 5 P. M. However, the clinics were also supposed to be in a position to receive patients at any given time without restrictions when they are open.

Another standard requires that there must be a trained physician onsite at all times whenever the facility is open. It is illegal to operate the clinic without a qualified physician onsite. Doctors, pediatricians, primary physicians, and physician assistants are examples of medical practitioners that are termed as qualified to be onsite. The facility must also be able to treat a wide range of medical conditions that are not life-threatening.

A number of advantages from these clinics continue to spearhead their rapid growth. First, the waiting time in these facilities is much lower as compared to that incurred in other facilities that provide similar services. In these clinics, patients wait for approximately 15 minutes before they receive treatment.

At the UC facilities, one does not only experience short waiting periods, but also has a chance of saving a lot of money. UC clinics usually provide affordable services to patients. In addition, the facilities give only one bill. This implies that the patient only pays the bill they are given. The patient is not issued with additional bills outside the facility like it happens in most facilities.

As stated before, one is not required to make an appointment prior to visiting a UC clinic. The facility allows one to walk in and out as they wish. Also, the clinics operate 7 days in a week. As such, one is able to access healthcare services at these facilities at any time during the day. A majority of the facilities close at 5 in the evening. However there are those which stay open up to 9 in the night.

Even though the healthcare services provided at UC clinics is not very comprehensive, it is important for many conditions that are not life-threatening. The facilities offer a one-stop-shop. They also offer comprehensive diagnostic services such as rapid testing, MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, and digital x-ray among many others.
